Working daily to assure and ensure rigorous opportunities for a global society. An extensive background in Engineering Design and Project Management while working in the nuclear power, energy, and telecommunication industry. Long term goal is to develop, build, and create an innovative K-12 school for the underserved and underrepresented students providing scholarship, culture, creative arts, self efficacy, artistic expression and more.

Ms. Toran completed her Bachelor of Science - BS, Electrical Engineering from Tennessee State University, and Master of Arts in  Teaching and Learning Curriculum and Instruction also from from Tennessee State University.

Christy Russ is Field Care Manager at Humana. Ms. Russ is dynamic goal-driven and empathetic social work professional known for collaborating and engaging clients, family members, and stakeholders to ensure clients' needs are met. She is savvy, persistent, and award winning in reducing and overcoming barriers to deliver clients’ needs. At Humana she employs a variety of strategies, approaches, and techniques to manage client's physical, environmental, and psycho-social health issues. Identified and resolved barriers that hindered effective care.  

Ms. Russ completed her Bachelor of Science - BS, Aeronautical and Industrial Technology from Tennessee State University, and Master of Social Work from University of Tennessee, Knoxville.


Brandon Cobb

Brandon Cobb is a Senior Engineer with Ryder Systems, Inc. He is responsible for the analysis and utilization of continuous improvement tools to design Supply Chain Solutions that will generate savings for customers and increase revenue for the company. His skill set includes the collection of data to perform statistical analysis, establishing and implementing performance measures, KPI targets and optimization tools, and the development of transportation network design and routing design using the appropriate software. He enjoys incorporating new ideas into current operations all while ensuring the logistics are deemed feasible. His colleagues would describe him as driven and an individual who maintains a positive, proactive attitude when faced with ambiguity.

Brandon obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural & Facilities Management Engineering in 2008 and Master of Engineering degree in Environmental Engineering in 2010; both from Tennessee State University.

Currently, Brandon is working on his MBA at Middle Tennessee State University with a scheduled completion in May 2022.

Kenneth is a Project Manager and Project Engineer at Alfred Benesch & Company Inc.  Prior to joining Alfred Benesch & Company, Kenneth worked at Volkert as a transportation engineer, and as a Design Engineer for RPM Transportation Consultants and KCI Technologies where his focus was on traffic signal design, roadway and intersection improvements designs. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Tennessee State University. Kenneth also obtained a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Transportation Engineering from Tennessee State University. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and golfing.

Immediate Past-President | Rhonda D. Mundy

Rhonda D. Mundy is from Dayton, Ohio. She received her BS Degree in Civil Engineering from the School of Engineering and Technology at Tennessee State University in 1986. She made the Dean’s List and received a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency. In May 2014, she received her Master’s Degree in Christian Ministries from United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio.

Rhonda has been employed 32 years with the City of Dayton, Department of Public Works, Division of Civil Engineering in the Bureau of Traffic Engineering. Her duties involve maintaining safe and efficient traffic operations in the city by providing traffic control requirements for right-of-way permit applications, laying out paint markings, updating GIS based traffic sign inventory, offering solutions to high accident locations, obtaining traffic volumes and responding to citizen traffic concerns.  

Rhonda is the newly elected President of the TSU Engineering Alumni Association. She also served as Corresponding Secretary, 2007-2011 and Vice President, 2016-2018. The organization honored her with the Chapter Spirit Award in 2009 and the 2012 Think, Work, Serve Award. She is also one of the Mighty 100. Rhonda has also been active with the TSU Dayton Alumni Chapter.

Rhonda is a member of Lambda Chapter of Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, whose motto is “Not for Ourselves but for Others. She has served in various capacities including President of the local chapter and Northern Region Director of Fine Arts.
