The Tennessee State University College of Engineering New Building Campaign (NBC) is a fund that was established by the alumni, friends and supporters of the College to the benefit of the Tennessee State University CoE.  Formally launched on March 2019, it is established in and managed by the Tennessee State University Foundation (501©3) as a ‘restricted fund’ account with a stipulation that the funds are invested for the short term to earn annual interest, and principal is only utilized for the construction for a new Tennessee State University College of Engineering building complex (i.e. the ‘principal’ never be touched or liquidated until construction is started).  A portion of the annual earnings is used for design, development, planning and fundraising for the new Tennessee State University CoE building.  The rest of the earnings are reallocated back into the Tennessee State University CoE New Building Campaign (NBC) Fund principal to ensure that the ‘restricted fund’ continues to grow and yield more earned interest for the new building’s cause.  The CoE New Building Campaign (NBC) Fund is a gift that will build a ‘new’ start of the art home for Tennessee State University CoE students.

In 2019, Tennessee State University College of Engineering (CoE) alumni launched the TSU CoE New Building Campaign (NBC) Fund launched with a $500,000 in pledges and contribution.  The goal is to raise $6,000,000 or more toward the new building’s estimated 10% to 15% cost by 2030 or sooner.  These funds will be raised by contributions made by alumni and supports via a pledge/payment system either immediately or over 12, 24, 36, or 48-month.  Contribution to the NBC will be directed to the Tennessee State University Foundation (i.e. checks, electronic payment, wire transfers, credit card payment, etc.).  The Tennessee State University Foundation (Foundation), as the primary funds manager of the TSU CoE New Building Campaign (NBC) Fund, will provide on-line access to contribution systems, and provide on-line records of all giving transaction and regular financial reports to all contributors to the NBC fund.

All funds contributed to the CoE New Building Campaign (NBC) Fund are 100% tax deductible and may be matched by an employer’s gift matching program.  This message has been repeated in numerous communications to the Tennessee State University CoE alumni and supporters.  Each contribution is a non-refundable donation into the endowment that will service the long-term facility needs of CoE at Tennessee State University.
